Frequently Asked

Why choose D3 over D2?

D3 is the form your body naturally makes from sunlight and is significantly more bioavailable than D2, which is why we use it exclusively.†

Is this truly vegan?

Yes — our D3 is sourced from lichen, not lanolin from sheep’s wool. Every ingredient is plant-based and certified organic.

What are signs I might need more Vitamin D?

Low energy, frequent illness, muscle soreness, and mood dips can all be linked to vitamin D deficiency. Supplementation helps close the gap.†

Is Sol Food safe to take when pregnant or breastfeeding?

Sol Food is safe to take by those who are actively trying to conceive, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding, but we always recommend speaking with your doctor before adding a supplement to your routine during pregnancy. Studies suggest that people who supplement with 4,000 IU/day of vitamin D during pregnancy may have the best pregnancy outcomes, including a lower risk of preeclampsia. Adequate levels of vitamin D are needed to pass vitamin D to your infant through breastmilk.

Is Sol Food safe for children?

For children above the age of 9, one tablet of Sol Food is safe to take because the safe upper limit of vitamin D is the same as in adults (4,000 IU/day). Please check with a doctor before using Sol Food as a supplement in children under the age of 9, and be sure to ask about any allergies your child might have.
