Acerola is a west indian cherry that helps boost immunity and is one of the richest berry sources of Vitamin C, whilst also being high in antioxidants and B vitamins.
Amaranthus caudatus L.
An ancient seed (like quinoa!) eaten by the Aztecs, Amaranth contains all the essential amino acids, including Lysine, and is a great source of calcium, Vitamin C and iron.
Blackberries have one of the highest antioxidant levels of all fruits (even more than açai), and are also low in sodium and calories.
Blueberries contain the unique, phenol-like antioxidants pterostilbene and resveratrol and are a very good source of vitamin K, vitamin C, and manganese.
Brassica oleracea var. italica
Broccoli is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin C, chromium, and folate, as well as a great source of dietary fiber.
Believe it or not, cocoa has recently been shown to help in weight loss by increasing mitochondrial biogenesis, and improve mood and cognition thanks to its high antioxidant content. Even better, it makes taking your daily multivitamin that much more delicious!
