  • Overview
  • Our digestive enzymes supplement, Break it Down, is a delicious powder containing 15 digestive enzymes to help ease common digestive issues.

Digestive enzymes work in your stomach to help digest your food before it reaches your small intestine.

In addition to superstar enzymes like lactase from fungi, bromelain from pineapple, and papain from papaya, we’ve also included 1 billion probiotics in each serving. Probiotics help promote a healthy gut and cultivate an environment within which your digestive enzymes can be their most effective.

Break it Down can be used on a regular basis to help with digestive issues or as an occasional supplement for hard-to-digest meals. We’ve included organic pineapple, which not only provides an essential digestive enzyme but also makes it delicious to drink.

    30 servings, 210g (7.41oz).

  • What does it do?
  • Many digestive issues can arise from inflammation, caused when your food is not fully digested. Digestive enzymes speed up the chemical reactions necessary for proper digestion so your small intestine doesn’t get stuck with that entire veggie burger.

Our digestive enzyme powder works in your stomach to help properly digest your food before it travels through the rest of your digestive tract.

This powder helps alleviate and protect against common digestive issues like bloating, cramping, and constipation, by helping your gut digest your food quicker and more efficiently.

New to digestive enzymes? Check out our blog post outlining what are digestive enzymes and the different types.

  • Directions
  • Mix one scoop or sachet with at least 1/4 cup (2 oz) of water or add to a smoothie. For a lighter flavor, add more water - but we prefer 2oz for that strong pineapple flavor in a quick and easy shot glass!

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place.

Contains NO: dairy, gluten, soy, GMOs, peanuts, tree nuts, added sugars, filler ingredients, artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners or preservatives.

Organic Pineapple

Organic Pineapple
Ananas comosus

Pineapple not only adds a fruity kick to our Omega-3, it's also full of Vitamin C and manganese, an important cofactor in energy production that also supports antioxidant defenses against free radicals.

Organic Tapioca Maltodextrin

Organic Tapioca Maltodextrin

Maltodextrin has been studied to improve the microencapsulation and shelf life of nutrients, creating a more effective and nutrient rich end product.[1] Unlike other forms of maltodextrin that are made from GMO corn or wheat treated with heat and acids, Ora starts with organic, non-GMO tapioca and uses a natural water based enzyme process to create organic tapioca maltodextrin. Not only is this more sustainable, but it also ensures no corn, wheat or gluten is in the end product.

Organic Pineapple Juice Powder

Organic Pineapple Juice Powder
Ananas Comosus

Pineapple juice contains calcium, magnesium, and iron, and just one cup packs more than 25% of your daily recommended Vitamin C intake. Nutrient-rich and perfectly sweet, pineapple juice also carries an important digestive enzyme called bromelain, which breaks down protein and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Organic Maple Sugar

Organic Maple Sugar
Acer Saccharum

Maple sugar comes from maple syrup, which contains more than 50 antioxidants and phytonutrients [1]. That's as much as raw carrots, broccoli, and tomatoes contain [4]. Per serving, maple syrup offers more manganese, riboflavin, zinc, magnesium, calcium, and potassium than a medium apple [2], [3]. Take this as an excuse to eat more pancakes.

Vegetarian Pancreatin

Vegetarian Pancreatin

Pancreatin is a combination of lipases (enzymes that break down fat) and proteases (enzymes that break down protein). Typically, pancreatin is made from animal pancreases. We make ours through a vegan fermentation process, which offers countless enzymatic benefits for you. Our vegetarian pancreatin works at a wide range of pH levels to break down food throughout your entire digestive tract, even after your food leaves your stomach.

Aspergillopepsin

Aspergillopepsin

Aspergillopepsin is a protease that breaks down a broad spectrum of proteins. Some evidence shows it can also digest gluten [1]. Aspergillopepsin is grown from the same family of fungi that is used to make sake.

Glucoamylase

Glucoamylase

Glucoamylase is a carboyhydrase that converts starch completely into glucose. Glucose is the carbohydrate that your body most frequently uses for energy.

Phytase

Phytase

Phytase is a digestive enzyme that boosts your body's ability to absorb nutrients. It breaks down the phytic acid in foods that our bodies can't access on their own and frees up minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc for your body to absorb.

Fungal Amylase

Fungal Amylase

Amylase is a digestive enzyme that breaks down carbohydrates, enabling your body to absorb and use its main energy source.

Cellulase

Cellulase

Cellulase is a digestive enzyme that breaks down cellulose, which is the cell wall of plants that can be difficult to digest.

Lactase

Lactase

Lactase is a digestive enzyme that breaks down lactose, the primary compound in milk and other dairy products. This enzyme is especially helpful for those who are lactose intolerant - it breaks down milk sugar when the body can't do it on its own.

Papain

Papain

Papain is a digestive enzyme that breaks down proteins. It's extracted from immature papaya and has beneficial anti-inflammatory properties.

Pectinase

Pectinase

Pectinase is a digestive enzyme that breaks down carbohydrates. Specifically, it helps break down pectin, which is found in fruits and vegetables.

Peptidase

Peptidase

Peptidase breaks down proteins and polypeptides so your body can use amino acids. Your science teacher was right about this one: amino acids are important building blocks. Cells use them to carry out countless biological functions, from building muscle to protecting your cardiovascular system and fueling your metabolism.

Hemicellulase

Hemicellulase

Hemicellulose helps digest fibers in plant cell walls. When it breaks down those fibers, hemicellulose frees up the nutrients so your body can absorb them. So, listen to your mother. Eat your vegetables.

Xylanase

Xylanase

Xylanase helps you digest high-fiber foods and supplements, helping to relieve gas, bloating, and abdominal discomfort.

Bromelain

Bromelain

Bromelain comes from pineapple and plays a major role in digesting proteins. It's also an anti-inflammatory agent at the cellular level, helping to clean up damaged cells in your digestive tract. Bromelain is concentrated mostly in the core and stem of the pineapple, which is why it's important to reap the benefits in supplement form.

Beta Glucanase

Beta Glucanase

Beta glucanase helps you digest wheat, oats, rye, and barley-based foods. Beyond its role as an important digestive enzyme, beta glucanase also boosts your body's ability to absorb the nutrients from your food.

Bacillus subtilis

Bacillus subtilis

Bacillus subtilis is a well studied and documented probiotic that helps balance your microbiome and promote a healthy gastrointestinal tract.
